Student Internship

2 Months
Dates needed
$3,000-$4,000 (Approx.)
The Position

Through this internship, you will be mentored by and experience missionary life alongside ABWE missionaries serving in Madrid and other locations in central Spain. You will have the opportunity to learn and serve in a variety of ministries such as:

  • ESL
  • Sports Ministry
  • Community Bible Studies
  • Children's Ministry
  • Youth Ministry
  • Evangelism & Discipleship

This internship does require an intermediate knowledge of Spanish.

The Need

While Spain has been a religious country for centuries and many Spaniards know of Jesus, few know him intimately, particularly among the younger generation. Many Spanish cities and towns have no evangelical witness, and while it is a difficult environment for missions, the need is obvious, and the opportunities are abundant.

Since 1970, ABWE has been planting churches in Spain. While our missionaries are actively involved in some public ministries, the most effective approach seems to be “living-room evangelism”—using loving, persistent relationships to share the love of Christ and present the gospel through direct study of Scripture. Our desire is for Spaniards to meet Jesus in a personal way — so that they might find new life in him.

Is God is leading you to serve through missionary work and planting churches in Spain?

The Impact

Use your passion for evangelism and discipleship to make an eternal impact on the mission field. Every ministry we begin, every project we undertake, and every relationship we develop is geared toward sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. However, we know that simply sharing the gospel with someone is only part of our calling as missionaries: we’re also called to walk alongside them and make disciples. If you love Jesus and have a heart for the lost and hurting, then we have a place for you.

Due to COVID-19, travel requirements for trips originating from the US vary by location. To learn more, contact us at go@abwe.org. We’d love to talk to you!
