Camp Ministry Leaders

The Position

Do have experience working with children, and a passion for mentoring youth? If so, we need your help. We have an opening for a camp ministry leader role that will allow you to blend your God-given talents with missionary service. Develop and lead a curriculum that Slovakia’s kids will enjoy participating in while providing families with an invaluable service — and building the relationships that matter most.

As a camp ministry leader, you will:

  • Demonstrate experience working with children in a formal setting, including developing a curriculum that’s both fun and educational
  • Become a resource for family members when they have questions about faith and God
  • Provide excellent leadership by directing camp staffers with expertise, and by living an authentically Christian lifestyle
  • Support the church’s efforts in spreading the Gospel as ABWE plants new churches throughout Slovakia
  • Bring a love for people, a passion for missions work and the patience to succeed
The Need

The oppression of communism stifled religious freedom in Slovakia for over 40 years. Christian persecution and repression discouraged Slovakians from developing a personal relationship with God. Today, there is religious freedom but the influence of the past remains strong. With nearly 5.5 million nationals in Slovakia, only 0.2 percent identify as evangelical. We need your help to remove the roadblocks that prevent Slovakia’s people from discovering the love and forgiveness that Christ offers.

The Impact

Camp ministries offer a respite and retreat for children, young people, couples and families whose lives are often plagued by neglect, poverty, and heartbreak. Beyond the fun, camp ministries can help introduce youth to Jesus Christ, encourage healthy families and marriages, and offer spiritual renewal for believers and church leaders. If you are passionate about using Christian camping as life-changing way to heal hurts, breakdown walls, and share Jesus, then we have a place for you.
