Timothy and Leandra Hawes - Drinking Water Filtration

Papua New Guinea

Clean water is often taken for granted. At Goroka Baptist Bible College, clean water is something that is essential to the health of the students and staff. Tim and Leandra have witnessed many typhoid epidemics due to contaminated river water. A system is in place, but it is costly to maintain as we need to purchase replacement filters. It costs about $2,000 a year in maintenance which God has provided for 2021.

Well drilling is an incredible way to reach the many villages. A well drilling rig and tractor were recently donated to the ministry. We estimate that it will cost about $7,000 to drill a well and set it up. We plan to drill the first well in September of 2021.
