Poland is experiencing both an incredible time of human trial and potential for the Gospel. Official sources estimate that nearly 5 million Ukrainians have come into Poland as a result of the war in Ukraine.  

Whether these refugees are moving through or permanently staying in Poland, they need assistance at many levels to streamline their integration into their new environments and to be reached spiritually.  

Most of the members of our Ukrainian partner church,4th Baptist Church of Gdansk, are refugees themselves with very limited incomes. The beginning of winter as well as continued fighting targeting civilian infrastructure, promises to soon bring another flood of refugees into Poland. 

Polish and Ukrainian congregations have been central hubs for meeting the physical and spiritual needs of those devastated by war. By God’s provision, 4th Baptist Church of Gdansk has acquired an office space to help facilitate the integration process and is also in the process of planting a church in a town called Tczew, about 30 minutes south of Gdansk.  

Meeting these needs places a tremendous burden on all of the churches and especially the refugee church which is made up predominately of Ukrainian refugees. 

Local Polish and Ukrainian churches are working hard to receive, serve, and integrate those who have been forced from their homes and country. Integrating refugees into a new country and culture is difficult and expensive.  

Yet, our Ukrainian partners are dedicated to seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed to everyone.
