Founded by ABWE missionaries, Palawan Baptist Hospital began as a health clinic in 1977 and registered as a hospital in 1979, striving to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of the local Roxas people as well as surrounding municipalities.
It is PBH's prayer that the hospital can become financially stable to better serve the population, the majority of whom live below the poverty line. The hospital also seeks to upgrade its hospital equipment and the services it provides in this ever-changing era of medical advancements. Some of these upgrades include:
- A new infant warmer and Bili-light
- A new hospital building, as the original 1979 structure has been deemed a fire hazard
- An ambulance for transporting patients to higher facilities
