Robert and Shirley Cropsey

United States

Although retired,  Bob and Shirley are grateful to still serve part-time with the International Healthcare Ministry (IHM) team.

Shirley is involved in ministering to 40+ wives of healthcare residents called Side by Side in the greater Ann Arbor area which is associated with the Christian Medical Association. Bob is still focused on mobilizing healthcare professionals as short term and career missionaries for global healthcare ministries, primarily in Togo, W. Africa, at both the Hôpital Baptiste Biblique in the south of Togo and Hôpital de L’Espérence  (Hospital of Hope) in northern Togo.

Bob is still making short-term trips to both hospitals to expose students and career healthcare professionals to short term and career missions. Currently the main focus is helping both hospitals secure a minimum of three career missionary surgeons in order to begin a surgical residency training program in Togo in partnership with the Pan African Academy of Christians surgeons.

Our current target date is 2022 to begin surgical training in the south with the north becoming involved as well. This year, 2020, there is an acute need for short-term physicians, PA’s, NP’s but especially primary care (FP, Peds, ER, IM, OB-GYN) as well as general surgeons and orthopedic surgeons.

Check out our newest website, www.MedicalFriendsofTogo.org, for opportunities to serve with us and for ongoing projects that we pray you might consider participating in.

All the details of both serving or participating as a donor are available at our new website as well as subscribing to our Medical Friends of Togo Newsletter either by email or direct mailing to your mailbox address on a quarterly basis.

If you have any questions are desire to become involved in either short term or career missions, you can contact the Cropsey’s at [email protected] or 734.730.6812.
