Jonathan and Michelle Archer

Togo

Partnering with the Church to reach the unreached and to multiply churches in Togo, West Africa

Who we are:

Jonathan and Michelle Archer and their 3 children (Kylie, Ethan, and Mary) are missionaries to Togo, West Africa where they serve specifically with the Central Team in the city of Kara. As a family they are passionate about Evangelism, Disciple-Making, Kids Ministry, Church Multiplication and Leadership Development.

All of these are focused on engaging and reaching the un-reached and under-reached of Togo.

Before moving to Togo Jonathan served for 17 years in ministry as a youth pastor and missionary to inner-city and at-risk youth. Michelle was a stay-at-home mom that home-schooled our kids and discipled them toward a healthy Christianity.

Both Michelle and Jonathan graduated from Piedmont Baptist College, now Carolina International University. Later Jonathan finished his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA

Evangelism, Disciple-Making, and Church Multiplication

Their primary goals are engaging with the unreached, in order to develop intentional relationships that lead to a gospel witness. Through this witness new believers are discipled and guided through scripture so that they see their need for a church and a community of believers.

The goal of disciple-making is seeing these new believers share their faith and passion for Jesus with others also. These relationships are most often one-on-one or in small groups both in Kara and throughout the central region.

The Archers would also like to begin reaching students at the local university who come from unreached villages. Ultimately, they long to see church plants established in regional unreached villages.

Kids Ministry

Michelle leads a local kids club every Saturday morning with an average of 40 children in a time of bible story, singing, scripture memory, and healthy fun. She teaches through scripture from creation to the cross while incorporating children’s songs that correspond to these lessons.

She regularly battles other local religions of Animism and Islam that cloud the truth during these lessons. She has also started a small group of young ladies who are being more intentionally discipled once a week in a small group that meets on Sunday afternoons.

All these ministries are intended to impact the future generation.

Leadership Development and Counseling Training

Jonathan is part of the Bible Institute Faculty in Togo which is designed to equip and train young people for ministry especially the pastorate. He is also involved in pastoral counseling training with the hopes of being involved in a potential cohort of young pastors and church members to equip them to lead their local churches in helping the community with Biblical Counseling.
