Aliza Urias

Mexico

Aliza spent several years in Mexico before partnering with ABWE to share the gospel in the northern state of Sinaloa. It was during this time that God channeled her love of language and culture, as well as desire to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, toward missionary work in Mexico.

Aliza serves in the capital city of Culiacan where thousands of indigenous families migrate to work the farm fields every year. This provides a unique opportunity to share the gospel with people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Alongside another missionary couple and volunteers from the local churches, Aliza holds Bible Storytelling sessions in their camps every weeknight and creates meaningful relationships with those that attend. This ministry involves evangelism and long-term discipleship of many who haven’t heard the gospel and often are illiterate due to their oral language tradition. For this reason, the storytelling method is very useful and easy for people to replicate.

Please pray that through these Bible studies, many will come to know Jesus and bring the Good News to their towns and villages as well.
