The Position

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, ABWE has canceled most international travel originating from the U.S. until the State Department drops the Global Health Advisory to a Level 2 or lower. However, please email our Mobilization team at go@abwe.org to discuss service opportunities and exceptions. We would love to talk with you!

Are you a flexible, relational, open-minded, and creative self-starter? Our team is looking for families and/or interns with a passion for sport ministry.

From starting an American football team in the Brazilian outback to connect with local men, to sharing the gospel through pick-up games of basketball, we know that sports are powerful tools for sharing God’s game-changing love.

The Need

About 75 percent of Brazilians identify as Catholic. In the last three decades Brazil has also grown to be the largest Pentecostal nation of the world. Only four percent of the 200 million people claim to be non-Pentecostal Evangelical believers. In Southern Brazil, less than two percent of people identify as Christians. In 2015, the nation of Brazil entered into a widespread economic crisis. The financial recession is real, crime is high, and the overall morale is very low. We are praying that God will use this difficulty to soften hearts, open eyes to the Gospel and give many hope in desperate times. Will you join us?

We need you to partner with missionaries and Brazilian nationals on the ground to share the gospel, plant and multiply local churches, train leaders, and ultimately, assist Brazilians to continue fulfilling the Great Commission by sending out their own people as missionaries.

The Impact

Use your passion for sports and community outreach to make an eternal impact. From starting football teams to connect with local men, to opening a coffee shop ministry to reach university students, we know that sports and community outreach ministries start conversations and open doors to share God’s game-changing love.
