Secondary History Teacher

North Africa

The Position

ABWE offers an incredible opportunity in North Africa for a trained teacher to serve the needs of the Christian community. ABWE’s K-12 school is well established, serves students with an American-style curriculum, and is a safe and supportive environment for tent-making families and international students living in the region.

As a secondary History teacher, you will:

  • Develop a suitable, high-quality curriculum for English-speaking international students that is also Christ-centered
  • Support the school’s families and staff member efforts to train the next generation of Christian workers, including ministry and secular workers
  • Provide your own financial support, or be able to live on a small stipend provided by the school
  • Bring your commitment to Christ, and your passion for teaching, to your work everyday

Must have a degree in education or History, as well as classroom experience that extends beyond student teaching.

The Need

As part of the 10/40 Window, North Africa bears some of the world’s greatest physical and spiritual needs. Most here have never had an opportunity to hear the gospel, and many have lived in poverty and broken relationships. Countries in this area of the world desperately need Christians to come and live life among them to demonstrate the greatness and love of our God.

The Impact

The foundation of faith is understanding, and the foundation of understanding is education. As a teacher missionary, you have the unique opportunity to use their classroom as place of ministry. Along with teaching about grammar and algebra, they are able to disciple their students and point them to the ultimate teacher: Jesus. The world needs more teachers like you because we firmly believe a biblically-based education is integral in raising up strong followers of Christ.
