The ABWE Project Office exists to carry "out the Great Commission through proper planning and construction of ministry related facilities around the world." As a student intern working alongside our Project Office team, you will gain invaluable exposure to how construction fits in with the Great Commission by helping ABWE missionaries realize their facility needs and dreams. Daily responsibilities and experiences will include:

  • Estimating and scheduling constructability reviews.
  • Administrative tasks involved in coordinating a project.
  • Supervising and managing local contractors and/or national workers.
  • Quality control inspections and material verifications.
  • Ministry development opportunities: speaking engagements at churches and organizations, literature and marketing material development, communications with multiple teams.
  • Depending on your experience, you may also receive specific project assignments to complete during the internship.
  • Exposure to what ministry Stateside looks like and executing the completion of projects overseas.
  • Possible international trip to gain experience of a construction site overseas.

This internship is available to anyone pursuing a degree in construction, specifically either technologies or management.

The Need

Although the US has long been the leader in sending missionaries overseas for decades, there is an urgent need for the gospel at home. Less than 18 percent of Americans attend church on a given weekend, there are more than 80 distinct unreached people groups living within the US, and if all of America's unchurched people were their own country, it would be the eighth most populous nation in the world.

At ABWE, we want to change that. We're using decades of missions experience to help local churches in the US train members to become cross-cultural disciplemakers and church planters. Will you join us?

The Impact

Use your business mind to change hearts. At ABWE, we use small businesses to reach communities with Christ’s love by giving jobs and skills to people in need. From a bag factory to a sewing ministry, these unique business ministries are reaching entire communities and enabling us to disciple workers and share the gospel in areas of the world where Jesus’ name is widely unknown. We need innovative, business-minded people who are passionate about reaching others for Christ.
