Pastoral Development/Leadership Trainer

The Gambia

The Position

If you have a heart to mentor leaders, teachers, and pastors, we want you on our Gambian field team. Use your creativity and leadership skills to empower the fundamentals like prayer, scripture, discipleship, and training, for the kingdom of God. You will play a major role in creating the steppingstones to building church leadership.

The Need

With over 90% of the Gambian people being Muslim and less than one percent of them being evangelical believers, there is a great need for leadership training. People are responding to the message of Jesus Christ with our Bible resources in the Wolof language and Fulani. While English is the official national language of the Gambia, a willingness to learn their language and culture is necessary to minister to their spiritual needs. When God has opened a heart, they are eager to learn more, but the laborers are few. Some Gambian Muslims have come to faith in Jesus Christ, and many others are hearing God’s word on a regular basis with not nearly enough connections for development. The heart of ABWE’s focus in The Gambia is a ministry to Muslims and unreached people groups. We seek to share the gospel, plant churches, disciple, and prepare Gambians to become the future leaders of local churches in every region. Will you join us in building up the next generation of church leadership for those who have responded and lead others to our Lord’s saving grace?

The Impact

Coming to The Gambia with your leadership skills, you will be in a unique position to develop meaningful relationships. We desperately need more leaders like you, so that we can respond to The Gambia’s growing hunger for the truth. With your skills, you will get to evangelize, disciple, and prepare new believers in The Gambia to lead the churches of the future to help fulfill the Great Commission.
