Maintenance & Construction Position

The Position

Due to the ongoing global COVID-19 crisis, ABWE is limiting international travel of short-term missionaries originating from the US and assessing the level of risk per country per US State Department guidelines. To inquire about travel restrictions or exceptions, please contact go@abwe.org. We would love to talk to you!

We are looking for someone to join our team and aid our facilities with maintenance and construction. Some of the tasks included would be:

  • Carpentry projects
  • Electrical and solar work
  • Plumbing
  • Car Maintenance
  • And much more!

The Need

In the Gambia, most people have never heard of Jesus Christ. About 90% of the Gambia’s two million people are Muslim, and evangelical believers make up less than one percent of the population. While English is the official national language of the Gambia, most unreached people groups speak the Wolof language. To minister to their spiritual needs, a willingness to learn their language and culture is necessary.

Although there are challenging barriers to missions in the Gambia, the rewards are great. Equipped with Bible resources in the Wolof language, people are responding to the message of Jesus Christ! God has opened doors to serve as a missionary in the Gambia, and we are in of more workers—will you help us introduce more people to the love of Jesus?

The Impact

Use your construction skills on the mission field to make an eternal impact. On the mission field, trade workers do more than build or maintain structures; they help us build the kingdom of God. From building hospitals and churches, to constructing ministry schools, to helping maintain our current ministry properties, missionaries with construction experience and trade skills help us build and maintain the facilities we need to reach people for Christ. With 50 construction projects happening in 20 different countries and countless buildings that need maintained, we are always in need of skilled people like you.
