Team Members Needed

Individuals with or without a medical background. For those with a medical skill: any Primary Care Provider, NPs, PAs, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, PT, Dietitian, EMT, Paramedic, Chiropractor are welcome.

Trip Description:

In cooperation with local pastors, we will be conducting clinics in local churches to assess a variety of medical needs. Part of the team will work with nationals to take simple patient histories. As patients share about their physical health, we also aim to have conversations about their spiritual health, as we care for them both spiritually and physically.

Ministry Support Funds: $1,200 per participant

Each trip has its own "Ministry Support" account at ABWE, to which each participant contributes. The funds cover all local travel, accommodations, meals and supplies used throughout the trip. A predetermined amount of $100, to reserve placement, is submitted when assigned to a team. The balance needs to be submitted by 45 days prior to departure. These funds may be submitted by the team participant or by others on their behalf.

Airfare: Estimated $400-$500

Participants are responsible for purchasing your own airfare. Information will be provided to each team member by the team leader to ensure that your ticket can be coordinated so the entire team arrives on the same flight or within 30 minutes of team leader. Comprehensive details to prepare for this trip will be communicated by the team leader once you are assigned to the team.

Miscellaneous Expenses: $100-$200

Each trip has varying miscellaneous expenses based on trip requirements (e.g. online training, background check, specific vaccinations per country requirements, visa, etc.). Once an individual is assigned to a team, an email is sent outlining further details for these requirements.

See if you meet our qualifications for short-term team service and are in agreement with ABWE's Doctrinal Statement. If so, and you would like to apply click "Start The Conversation" below. If you have previously applied and are interested in this trip please contact, IHM@abwe.org with the name of the trip in the subject line.

The Need

We will be working with poor Jamaicans in the Montego Bay area. Local churches have revival meetings, but seldom see many persons accept Christ. Our trip last year saw more than 30 persons come to know the Lord and many more were interested. All of these patients will be followed up by local churches.

The Impact

Use your medical skills on the mission field to heal people physically and spiritually. We partner with local pastors and have seen compassionate medical care soften hearts to hear the message of the gospel, changing lives for today and eternity. But we cannot do it without you. Pray and ask God to provide the funds so you can participate!

Due to the ongoing global COVID-19 crisis, ABWE is limiting international travel of short-term missionaries originating from the US and assessing the level of risk per country per US State Department guidelines. To inquire about travel restrictions or exceptions, please contact go@abwe.org. We would love to talk to you!
