Guesthouse Manager

The Position

The guesthouse manager serves his/her missionaries in the vital role of overseeing ABWE’s lodging facility in an urban community. These buildings provide missionaries with a place to come to the city to obtain supplies and some rest at an affordable price.

As a guesthouse manager you will:

  • Oversee national employees who clean the apartments and care for the grounds
  • Maintain the financial books used in the running of the guesthouse
  • Shop for guesthouse supplies and make utility payments
  • Attend occasional meetings/social events at the American Embassy
  • Develop redemptive relationships in the neighborhood culminating in sharing the gospel and discipling new believers
The Need

In The Gambia, you will spend time among people who have never heard of Jesus Christ. English is the official national language of The Gambia, but of the 17 unreached people groups living in this country, many don’t speak it — although many understand Wolof. To minister to their spiritual needs, we need team members with a willingness to learn their language and culture. Although the barriers to missions are great, so are the rewards — people call us every week because they want to learn more about Jesus Christ! With 90 percent of the population coming from a Muslim background, and two percent holding indigenous views, there is a tremendous need to share the hope found in Jesus Christ in The Gambia.

The Impact

As a guesthouse manager in The Gambia, you will be in a unique position to minister to your fellow missionaries in a significant way and develop meaningful relationships with Gambians. We desperately need more disciple makers, like you, so that we can respond to The Gambia's growing hunger for the truth, while contributing to the longevity of your coworkers. Our vision is to have missionaries strategically located in every region so that we can evangelize, disciple, and prepare new believers in The Gambia to lead the churches of the future.

Currently, ABWE missionaries are working with the Wolof in The Gambia. Will you join our team and help us share the gospel to a nation hungry for truth?
