Church Planters

The Position

In partnership with Hope Street Missions, the ABWE North America team is looking for someone to identify, start, and grow a home church group in apartment complexes in impoverished, immigrant neighborhoods. This person or couple would need to be comfortable evangelizing, teaching, and discipling in group and individual settings. It would be helpful if you were willing to learn the language of the people group in your area as well.

The Need

Although the US has long been the leader in sending missionaries overseas for decades, there is an urgent need for the gospel at home. The US is becoming more unchurched—and unreached—at a faster rate than ever before.

As the nation becomes an increasingly post-Christian, post-church society, ABWE is partnering with local churches to offer tools for effective disciple making and church planting, to reach the unreached within the United States.

The Impact

Use your skills to help fulfill the Great Commission. As Christians, Jesus has called us to go and make disciples of all nations, and we believe that process isn’t completed until these disciples are gathered into a local community of believers: a church. Church planting is the heartbeat of evangelism, and it’s at the core of who we are at ABWE. It’s hard work, but for those called to the challenge, there is no greater reward on earth than watching a community of believers grow in their faith, and begin to understand their own role in the Great Commission.
