Opportunity

Church Planters

The Position

Ukraine is one of the largest and poorest countries in Europe and struggles with a lack of trained spiritual leadership, unhealthy churches, and broken families. While the needs are great, so are the opportunities to serve in the ministry of church planting.

Together with our Ukrainian partners, we are currently:

  • Planting churches in Kyiv and Odesa
  • Facilitating sister church relationships to provide assistance to church planters
  • Using medical clinics to facilitate church plants in the villages
  • Offering post-abortion Bible studies
  • Offering ministry seminars for local churches
  • Publishing literature

The Need

As more teammates join us, we would like to:

  • Establish a financial support mechanism for church planters
  • Research potential locations and partners for new church plants
  • Give presentations and testimonies on church planting at pastors’ conferences
  • Find and mentor Ukrainian physicians for evangelistic medical clinics
  • Create a written plan on how to implement a discipleship program in a local church
  • Develop a course to train lay counselors
  • Find trained counselors to conduct seminars on specific issues in the churches, and conduct seminars for pastors on counseling
  • Provide training for churches on financial management and pastoral support:

Does this sound like something God is call you to do?

The Impact

Use your skills to help fulfill the Great Commission. As Christians, Jesus has called us to go and make disciples of all nations, and we believe that process isn’t completed until these disciples are gathered into a local community of believers: a church. Church planting is the heartbeat of evangelism, and it’s at the core of who we are at ABWE. It’s hard work, but for those called to the challenge, there is no greater reward on earth than watching a community of believers grow in their faith, and begin to understand their own role in the Great Commission.
