The Position
If you have a gift for ministering to the spiritual needs of children, and you feel God’s love pointing you in the direction of missions work, there is a place on ABWE’s German missions team for you. As a children’s ministry leader, you’ll bring the message of God’s love to the youngest members of our church in a fun and engaging way. Our children’s ministry influences untold numbers of people, today and tomorrow — if you’re willing to share the gifts God gave you, you can, too.
As a children’s ministry leader in Germany, you will:
- Demonstrate a desire to work with children and teenagers to influence and improve their spiritual lives
- Bring your organizational and leadership skills to local church plants that need your assistance with teen ministry and outreach
- Create fun, age-appropriate events that will reach your community’s teens, even if they are not currently members of the church
- Help the worship team on Sundays with children’s programs
- Develop or assist with weekly children’s programs, summer camp programs and more
The Need
Germany’s history includes a rich background as a Christian nation, yet today there are fewer active churchgoers than ever before. Only 1.8 percent of Germany’s nearly 83 million residents consider themselves born-again Christians. Less than 5 percent go to church every week. Church activity is limited to Christmas and Easter or weddings and funerals. An attitude of pragmatic atheism prevails. Instead of filling their hearts with the satisfaction provided by a love for Christ, nonbelievers substitute faith for material goods, entertainment and status. ABWE operates missions across Germany, but we need your help. As a children’s ministry leader, you can share God’s message of hope and influence Germany’s direction for generations to come.
The Impact
ABWE missionaries currently work in various church communities across Germany. As a children’s ministry leader, you’ll serve in regions and cities where there is little evangelical influence. You’ll have the opportunity to enrich the spiritual lives of Germany’s youngest residents and watch in satisfaction as their churches grow and multiply.
