The Position

THE POSITION
Work with local PNG business owners and government agencies to advance Goroka Baptist Bible College and the churches being planted throughout the country by its graduates. This is a successful and expanding ministry, but business and financial expertise is lacking. Income generating activities on campus include coffee growing, fish farming, and more. Help GBBC maximize and leverage its assets to broaden its sphere of training and church planting.

Specific duties may include:

Develop new and enhance existing income generating initiatives.
Maintain the financial records for the ABWE PNG field team using QuickBooks.
Represent ABWE PNG to the PNG Internal Revenue Commission, including income tax and goods and services tax processes.
Supervise relations with both the labour and immigration departments.
Coordinate funding sources for the GBBC expansion program.
Assist the GBBC staff accountant as needed.
Train students in principles of stewardship.
Guide church plants to implement and practice biblical financial principles.
Share your enthusiasm and love for Christ, and set an excellent example for the community by living an authentically Christian lifestyle.

The Need

Adding a business manager to the ABWE PNG team will enable Goroka Baptist Bible College to keep student fees affordable while expanding its services and locations. Innovative financial strategies are needed to help GBBC become accredited, expand its main campus, and add satellite teaching sites to better serve churches and students.

PNG is largely unreached with the gospel. Existing churchgoers often blend religion with animism and spirit worship, and desperately need to hear the true gospel. For 40 years, ABWE’s Goroka Baptist Bible College has trained Papua New Guineans to lead the churches of today and tomorrow. Help our PNG ministry to expand in an increasingly complex environment.
