Job Summary/Primary Role: ABWE’s Director of Long-Term Mobilization oversees the promotion of ABWE’s cross-cultural mission opportunities. This includes screening and placement of all individuals who will serve with ABWE in a career and associate capacity. The Director of Long-Term Mobilization will collaborate with the Director of Communications and Advancement as well as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships when projects arise that relate to the advancement of ABWE as a whole. At times, efforts to affect candidates, sending/supporting churches as well as donors, are launched that require all relationship building teams to work simultaneously to support new and existing initiatives to further the mission of ABWE. Primary ministry responsibilities include teaching Biblical principles of world missions, spiritual mentoring, and Biblical counseling.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops Biblically based strategies in order to serve as a catalyst for mission involvement in churches (both sending new missionaries & supporting current missionaries)
  • Oversees and leads the Doctrinal Interviews of Career Missionaries
  • Oversees the screening of all ABWE applicants
  • Counsels and advises potential missionaries through spiritual mentorship and Biblical counseling
  • Connects applicants with personnel and resources
  • Oversees the budget setting and spending for the department.
  • Works with the Executive Director of Mobilization to suggest and implement changes and upgrades to the application and CRM software systems
  • Reviews and contributes to social media strategy in conjunction with the Communications Department to promote and advance cross-cultural opportunities
  • Define key performance indicators and implement enterprise level measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to gauge success in mobilization
  • Work with Communications Departments to explore and identify ways to integrate social media into business strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Work to create helpful cross department cooperation between Mobilization, Communications and Global Operations departments
  • Oversee the creation and developing of mobilization initiatives
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned

Qualifications: Ability to pass background check and all necessary clearances as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Minimum Prior Experience:

  • Pastoral or Missionary Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the Bible and the Biblical principles of world missions
  • Experience with spiritual mentoring and Biblical counseling, and able to teach Biblical principles effectively in one-on-one and group settings
  • Familiarity with missions, short-term and long-term, both in practice and principle
  • Cross-cultural mission experience will be helpful in the position

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, Bible or related field, required. Master’s degrees in theology or related field, preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Ordination/License as Minister of the Gospel preferred.
