Job Summary/Primary Role: The Custodial Services Worker will perform janitorial and event coordination duties for the International Headquarters. This person will give careful attention to the details of the facility and maintain a safe, clean, and attractive building. This person will also be responsible for the setup and tear down of events and will also be responsible for closing procedures. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, takes pride in his/her work, has high standards of cleanliness and safety, and sees this role as a ministry to the Lord, ABWE guests, missionaries, and staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facility including: restrooms, worship chapel, training rooms, entrances, stairways, common areas, President’s office, and employee lunchroom.
  • Operates equipment such as the carpet extractor as needed in order to maintain the cleanliness of the property.
  • Collects and disposes trash, shredded paper, etc., at the end of each day and throughout the day if necessary.
  • Orders and maintains the cleaning supply inventory.

Event setup and tear down

  • Meets with Event Coordinators to determine arrangement needs for events.
  • Provides the setup and tear down for activities, events, and meetings on campus.
  • Positions and places divider walls in the training center.

Opening/Closing Procedures

  • Performs closing procedures for the ABWE facility each day.


  • Performs light maintenance duties such as preparing and cleaning workspaces for new employees.


  • Ability to pass background check and all necessary clearances as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Prior Experience: previous experience in janitorial services is preferred.

  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and work over-time.
