The State of Missions in Asia and the Pacific

The church in Asia is exploding with growth—but it’s still surrounded by the world’s largest concentration of unreached peoples.

Christianity is exploding in Asia—but it’s still the home of most of the world’s completely-unreached people groups.

More than 4.3 billion people—nearly 60 percent of the world’s population—live in this region, including 80 percent of the world’s poorest. Almost 95 percent of the least evangelized people on earth are here, as well as most of the world’s religiously oppressive governments.

As new challenges arise every day, God is bringing new ministries—and new missionaries—to meet them. By focusing on church planting, especially in urban centers, we are praying that this region will experience a powerful awakening for the gospel. Asia, South Asia and the Pacific remains one of the most dynamic, innovative, and rewarding regions throughout the ABWE world.
