About Us

We are Family Medicine, OB Fellowship (Fred and Lydia) and ER Fellowship (Fred) trained doctors (http://www.fredandlydia.com/). We have completed two short term mission trips to Hospital Baptist Biblique (HBB) in Togo West Africa - with Samaritans Purse (Jan 2013 to July 2015) and with ABWE (August 2016 to June 2018). We have four children Noah, Nathanael, Noemi, and Noll.

As of the spring of 2022, we made the decision to return to HBB as full-time missionaries with ABWE. Christ teaches us not only the importance of love and compassion in time of need, but the importance of relationships. We are going back to be a part of the lives of the Togolese, who come to HBB.

HBB is a part of the ABWE Togo South Team mission (ABWE TST) that has multiple ministries that include aviation, HBB, bible translation and literacy, nurse training, a blind school, Christian schools, and pastoral training. The goal of ABWE TST is to glorify God by multiplying healthy churches in Togo West Africa. HBB contributes to this goal by helping people in a time of need, thus winning an audience for God. During a clinic-hospital visit, patients will hear the message of Christ, and upon discharge, follow up, if requested, will be done through the 50 plus churches that have been planted since 1974.

HBB is currently a medical-surgical hospital that provides outpatient and inpatient care for roughly 16,000 patients a year that includes 2,200 inpatient and 1,000 surgeries. Up until the summer of 2021, HBB also provided OB care that included 600 delivers a year. However, secondary to a lack of OB providers, HBB had to close the OB program. In returning to HBB, we have been asked to help HBB’s OB service. Our goal is not simply to work in OB, but to create an in-house midwife training program that will be part of a long-term solution of not only training OB providers and but providing God-centered OB care at HBB brining glory to God’s name.
