In order to receive academic credit for CEIM training, you must enroll in one of the graduate programs at BBC or BBS or make other appropriate arrangements with them for the establishment of a student academic file.
Baptist Bible Graduate School – Graduate Credit (http://www.bbc.edu/graduate/)
ABWE and BBGS worked together to create a graduate degree program that would benefit female missionaries, as well as men who will not be pursuing ordination. The Master of Science in Biblical Ministries (MSBM) is the result of that effort. Fifteen of the required thirty-three credits can be taken through ABWE’s CEIM. The eighteen BBGS credits can all be taken through distance learning courses.
Contact Howard Hicks (hhicks@bbc.edu) for more information.
Baptist Bible Seminary – Graduate Credit for Ordainable Men (http://www.bbc.edu/seminary/)
For ordainable men beginning seminary work, the BBS Master of Ministry degree is a good place to start. Fifteen of the thirty-three credits required for that program can be taken through CEIM training programs. Beyond the M.Min degree, ABWE personnel can also receive M.Div and D.Min academic credits for CEIM courses.
Ordainable men can contact Paul Golden (pgolden@bbc.edu) or Dr. Mike Stallard (mstallard@bbc.edu) in order to discuss the most appropriate degree option.
BBGS/BBS Tuition
Baptist Bible Graduate School and Seminary will provide ABWE missionary personnel a 50% reduction in the tuition current at the time of enrollment, for courses offered through ABWE’s CEIM. ABWE personnel will pay the full and regular tuition rate for BBC/BBS resident courses, modules or distance learning courses.
Course Procedures
- First: Fill out the “Course Commitment” form in order to express to CEIM’s Director of Academic Studies (David Heyd) your intent to take a course for academic credit. Use the form at the bottom of this page.
- Second: When you enroll in a CEIM training course, notify the instructor of your desire to take the course for academic credit. Check to be sure that academic credit is being offered for the course in which you are enrolled. You will receive an academic course design document at that time, which will include course objectives, assignments, deadlines, etc.
- Third: Contact BBGS or BBS to enroll in one of their programs or make other appropriate arrangements with them.
- Fourth: You will submit your course work to the CEIM instructor, which will be graded by him or her.
- Fifth: When you complete the course work and all assignments have been graded by the CEIM instructor, the Director of CEIM Academic Studies will notify BBGS or BBS (and you) of your grade.
- Sixth: At that time, your enrollment at BBGS or BBS must be complete and the appropriate tuition fee for the course must be paid.
Additional Information: Contact David Heyd (graduatecredit@abwe.org) for general ABWE-related questions related to CEIM courses and academic credit.
