Basic Missional TheologyPreparing to Do Theology Cross-Culturally

Download and read the Course Design Document.

Most courses on Bible Doctrines and Basic Theology are written to help students know Christian theology in a North American “Christian” context. But cross-cultural missionaries need to be equipped to do (or apply) theology in religious worldview contexts that are dominated by Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Judaistic, Spiritist, post modern, philosophical materialistic, or other theological constructs. This course covers each of the major subdisciplines of systematic theology, but helps the student to understand them in the contexts of ministering to unbelievers who adhere to pagan worldview systems, or to believers whose theological views have been deeply infected by those systems.

  • The course workbook consists of more than 250 pages.
  • Exams for each of the 11 units are offered online, through CEIM’s web-based Atrixware learning management system.
  • The course can be taken for non-credit (no academic credit) through CEIM. Or it can also be taken for two graduate level academic credits through CEIM and the Baptist Bible Graduate School or Seminary of Clarks Summit, PA. For more information, see Graduate Credit Information. Also, be sure to read the additional information in the course design document.
