Church planting in the Amazon is a slow, but rewarding experience. The people here are open, but slow to change. We have active works with ABWE missionaries in four towns along the Amazon River; one town with a Brazilian pastor, and two towns with organized congregations, but no strong leadership. There are a number of towns where new works could be started. Additionally, there are a number of Indian communities at various levels of church development. We need couples to work in towns as well as distant villages without many conveniences.
