Sports Ministries
Though in America, sports interest is truly great, it is even bigger internationally. ABWE’s International Sports Ministry seeks to develop sports as an effective tool that ABWE missionaries and field councils can use to help accomplish church planting goals and objectives on the various fields of the world.
Sports Ministry Goals
To help develop and coordinate the individual sports ministries of ABWE missionaries through training and equipping, teaching and providing resources, networking and facilitating teams going to the field.
Objectives
- Coordinate efforts for Special Events outreaches (Olympics, World Cup)
- Develop material beneficial for use in sports ministry
- Inform about existing sports ministry resources
- Offer training sessions in sports ministry
- Introduce and expose missionaries to sports agencies and sports agency leaders
- Profile current ABWE missionaries using sports
- Regularly inform with helpful sports newsletters
- Act as liaison between teams and individuals going to the mission field
