Trip Description: September 7-14, 2024
In cooperation with local pastors, we will be conducting clinics in local churches to assess a variety of medical needs. Part of the team will work with nationals to take simple patient histories. As patients share about their physical health, we also aim to have conversations about their spiritual health, and the reason for our trip and care for them.
Team Members Needed
Individuals with or without a medical background. For those with a medical skill any Primary Care Provider, NPs, PAs; RNs, LPNs, CNAs; PT; Dietitian; EMT, Paramedic; Chiropractor are welcome.
Ministry Support Funds: $1,300/per participant
Ministry support funds cover all local travel, accommodations, meals and supplies used throughout the trip. Instructions on how to submit the funds and the due date will be emailed to the team. These funds may be submitted by the team participant or by others on their behalf.
Airfare: $1,100-$1,300
Each participant is responsible for purchasing their own airfare, which typically ranges from $1,100 to $1,300. Travel information will be provided by the team leader to ensure everyone on the team arrives at the same time in the country of destination. Comprehensive details to prepare for this trip will be communicated by the team leader once each participant has been accepted and assigned to the team.
Miscellaneous Expenses: $100+
All first-time healthcare team trip participants must complete specific online training ($75) and each participant must purchase team specific travel/emergency insurance ($25) through ABWE. Instructions to complete the training and secure insurance will be given once trip assignment has been made. Other miscellaneous expenses may include a visa, additional travel insurance, routine vaccines and/or specific vaccinations dependent on country requirements. Special instructions for Argentina will be given to team members by the team leader.
The Need
Argentina is a geographically large and diverse country with a population of about 48 million people. The vast majority live in urban areas, with almost one-third of the entire population living in the greater Buenos Aires area. The tumultuous political history of the 20th century contributed to the worsening of the country’s economic situation, and has deeply affected many Argentines both economically and culturally.
Most Argentines have European ancestry due to Spanish colonization that began in the 16th century and heavily influenced the development of a blended European and Latin American culture in the country. Along with European influence came Roman Catholicism, to which almost 90% of Argentines still subscribe.
Though most Argentines consider themselves Christians, religious practice and affinity is declining, particularly among the younger generation. Yet, Argentines are offered religious freedom and a growing number are finding true freedom in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Biblically-faithful evangelism, discipleship, and church planting in Argentina are desperately needed to bring hope to the nation and support to its local believers.

Dr. Stacie has been a practicing pediatrician since 1995. Beginning in 2002, the Lord has used her passion for serving people and sharing the Gospel overseas to participate in and lead numerous medical missions trips. She also continues to serve the ABWE missionary family by providing medical support to our littlest missionaries on the field.
