Pray for effective follow up of new contacts from several recent outreach events in Lima, Peru: three drama presentations over Holy Week, an evangelistic brunch for nearly 100 ladies, a sports outreach today, and visitors to the growing small group ministry of the church.
Please pray for national leadership in Colombia and church planting efforts in that country. Pray for a church planting couple whose 5-year-old son has cancer.
Praise the Lord for the work of the Holy Spirit through Youth and Women’s camps these past months in the mountain area of Ingenio, Peru. Four young mother’s accepted Christ as Savior at a ladies’ camp led by missionaries and nationals from the coast and mountains taught there.
Praise for the way the Lord is working to bring Peruvian leaders to work with ABWE missionaries in that area in a team effort to teach TEE. The first week of this new TEE just took place and plans have been made for the future.
Pray for consistent discipleship of new believers and for Pastor Edgar and Rosa in leadership there.
That God would raise up a team to start the first Christian University in Peru.
Salvation of two families for whom we have been praying for several years: Carlos & Lila and Oscar & Claudia.

In my recent prayer letter, I listed a number of “gigantic prayer requests”! One of them was for a vehicle for ABWE’s Community Health Evangelism (CHE) ministry. We were asking God specifically for “a Toyota Land Cruiser, 4-wheel drive, high off the ground, sturdy, good gas mileage, able to transport 6-7 people (plus goats, chickens, beans/corn/grain . . .!), for less than $20,000 (which was the amount that God had already provided, earmarked by people who gave specifically for this need) . . . and purchased prior to my departure on May 19th!
PRAISE GOD that he has provided this vehicle for less money than we anticipated!
Missionaries Eivind and Liv Rognsvag are a gracious, dedicated couple with hearts burning for mission work around the world. Eivind has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Please pray for them and for their family.

2. The New Life Prenatal Center is 10-years-old, and there are now seven centers in Peru. Pray for the expanding vision for the next 10 years and the development of pro-life ministries throughtout Peru. Three new crisis pregnancy centers are in the planning stages: Villa El Salvador and Puente Piedra in Lima and Arequipa in southern Peru.
3. Pray for provision for the new Life by Grace Family Counseling Center in Sta. Eulalia, Peru that will begin construction of their facility on Monday. Francisco and Bertha, the Peruvian missionary directors, need special prayer for God’s provision, wisdom and strength.
4. Pray for the Living Hope Baptist Church leadership, strategic planning, and outreach to the surrounding community of San Isidro, Lima.
Please pray for a colleague, Dennis Slothower, who is in the United States for medical consultation.
For Easter this year, our church held a series of evangelistic outreaches by showing the newly released Christian film about marriage. During the three presentations, more than 400 first-time visitors from our community came and heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. Please pray as the church follows up on these contacts by inviting these contacts to a 7-week series on the family beginning on Mother’s Day and ending on Father’s Day.
Pray for our ABWE Project Office Team and the Specialty Resource people like engineers, architects and the many volunteers that assist on our projects globally.
Please pray for the more than 70 projects that all the project team is working on globally and that many will be saved through the various phases of the projects.
We praise God for the answers to prayer with the land acquisition of 63 acres in Mango, West Africa for the Wendell Kempton Medical & Ministry Center.
Pray for the ladies’ conference in Jerusalem on May 2. The topic is “Lies Women Believe.” Pray for growth among the believers. Pray for the salvation of those who don’t know the Lord. Pray for the seminar leaders—Anne, Anat, Anita, Tal, Colleen, Yael, Irit, and Shi-ne.
Pray for the Jerusalem congregation. They purchased a building which they are to take possession of in August. Pray for a new assembly that is meeting in a community outside of Jerusalem.
Pray for our family as we return to the United States to begin our first home assignment in August. Pray as we transition ministries in our host country. Pray for the logistics of storing our belongings on this end. Praise for the provision of a house and car in the United States.
Please pray for Ryan, who leaves for the United States on May 10. Pray as he completes his last two high school courses. Pray that he can find a job for the summer. Pray as he begins college in August at Wheaton.
Pray for the director of International Chinese Ministries as he recruits missionaries, and finds opportunities for missions partnership with Chinese churches.
Pray for the O’Boyles as they begin a new church plant to reach Chinese immigrants for Christ in Toronto. There are 500,000 Chinese in the greater area of Toronto.
Pray for 1.2 billion Chinese who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for more laborers in this region of the world.
Pray for Dr. Bruce Steffes (thoracic surgeon) who has served many times with ABWE in Togo, Africa. He was recently told he may have a serious form of cancer and is flying back to the United States today with his family for further evaluation. Pray that the Lord’s will be done, but also that the Lord would heal him.
Pray for Chip and Deanna Finck, who are recovering from minor injuries sustained during a recent car accident. They were broadsided by a vehicle that ran through a red light.
Pray for missionary kid Abi Melson facing reconstructive surgery as she recovers from a life-threatening infection.
Pray for the mentoring of men and training of women as disciples of Christ at the New Heart Baptist Church in Phnom Penh.
Please pray for MKs who are away from home, either in boarding school or at college.
1) Health
About a year ago Luzimar was diagnosed with a small nodule in her right lung after having an X-Ray and CT scan. We are uninsured in the U.S. and will take her to Brazil this coming June for exams and possible treatment.
2) Visas
Another prayer request is for our resident visas (green card). Due to the delay in visas issuance, we may have our daughter Julia (who will be 21) out of our green card. Please pray with us that the Lord will miraculously provide a way for Julia receive the green card with us.
