Bobby and Sara Hile
Bobby and Sara Hile’s church will sign a new lease at the cinema they use for a meeting place but the monthly rent will be more than double. The church is searching for land. Pray for the marriages in their church. Ask God to strengthen those who are distracted by jobs, recreation and anything else that can take the place of church attendance. Pray for the establishment of their lay-leadership and that God would raise up South African pastors.

Rick and Lisa Caynor
Lisa Caynor was moved from ICU to a private room on October 2. All of the semi-private rooms were taken so she was moved to a recently remodeled floor with 24 hour personal nurses at no extra charge. Pray for endurance and hope for the family. “The last few days have been extremely encouraging for us. We have seen her moving her mouth quite a bit and very clearly trying to talk to us. She's also been paying much better attention when she's "awake" and today we saw her yawn for the first time. She has been following conversations and making eye contact with everyone who comes in the room. Both the physical therapist and the doctor have said she is making good progress and that the signs are good.” (10/7)

ABWE personnel plan to establish Baptist churches, train national leaders through theological education by extension, and start works among the youth of Nicaragua, where almost half of the population is under the age of fifteen.

Andrew and Diane Large
Andy and Diane Large are asking God to raise up more faithful and committed leaders for their church. Albert has been studying “The Story of Hope” with Andy for 3 weeks now, and says that already he has seen changes in his life for the better. God is also continuing the good work in the lives of the women in Diane and Carmen’s Bible Studies. They had a great Christian Family Conference with Diane’s parents (Dr. Donald and Vivian Bond) as teachers on Sundays and Wednesday, and 8 couples attended the Marriage Retreat. The university age young people of the E.C.C. Church are excited about and planning their first missions trip for the first week of November. They plan to go to a remote part of Nicaragua to evangelize and minister to a needy people.

Patrick and Tina Curby
Pat and Tina Curby have met with their Hungarian friends from the town of Törökbálint a few times for Bible “discussion” times; several of these dear friends are deeply interested in knowing more about spiritual matters. When they were in the US this summer, Tina’s medical checkups and tests all indicated that she is still cancer free. This fall they are teaching English classes with Hungarian adults every Monday evening at a little church in the nearby town of Érd; most of their students never attend a church service, but they are eager to learn English and to get to know Pat and Tina. When it's not baseball season, they keep contact with some of their players (ages 9-12) thru Baseball Bible club. They play games, eat snacks, watch videotape of sensational baseball highlights and funny baseball bloopers, and have a Bible lesson.

The present ABWE team centers its efforts in Madrid, Coslada (just outside of Madrid), and Toledo. In each location the Lord has gathered a small nucleus of believers in the process of becoming an independent local church. Plans call for expansion into outlying communities. In Madrid several ABWE missionaries minister at the academy for missionary children. Innovative approaches, such as sports evangelism and weekday classes in crafts, English and music are being blessed of God to broaden the number of contacts for the gospel.

Glenn and Tammy Clodgo
Glenn and Tammy Clodgo held a week of children’s club in a small park beside the church and attendance ranged from 13 to 25 kids. The idea was to make those walking by curious as to what was going on. It worked! On Friday night they invited all of the kids to come inside the church for a snack and they showed a power point presentation of many of the photos that had been taken during the week. In order not to lose the momentum they had gained with children’s club, they used the final night of the club to invite all of the kids to come to a free Christian movie The movie time was held last week and there were 10 in attendance. Three of the kids who came were "new" attendrs. They have another movie time scheduled for October 27.

Tim and Martia Franklin
Please pray for the seminary search committee as they seek God’s leading for a director. This is a strategic decision with long term impact. The church is putting together a salary “package” for Jordão and Amanda. They have been serving at church for over 2 years while in seminary. He graduates in November and is looking for a place to minister. The church is looking for a pastor. Pray for wisdom and God’s clear leading—both for the church and for the couple.
