Robert V. Nusca with the Lord

Robert V. Nusca, retired ABWE missionary to Bangladesh, passed into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, August 3rd, at home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bob was born on January 11, 1926. He served with the US Army as a medical aid man during World War II in the European theater, at which time he received two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.

After a business career in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bob and his wife, Jimmie, were appointed by ABWE in 1978 to serve in Bangladesh, where they ministered for seventeen years at the Memorial Christian Hospital in Malumghat. Bob served as the hospital Business Manager, and Jimmie served as Manager of the Guest House and Director of the Heart House ministry.

After retirement, Bob served in leadership capacities with his home church, Calvary Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also served as a representative for the Planned Giving Department of ABWE.

For the last several years, Bob had been battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jimmie, and children Michael Caterino and his wife, Christina; Patty Caterino-Motley and her husband, Tim. There are five grandchildren: Rachel, Joshua and his fiancée Ilze, Caleb, Anna, and Aaron.

Arrangements are being handled by the Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. The funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Rapids on Sunday, August 7 at 2:30 pm.

Viewings will be on Friday, August 5, from 7-9 pm, and Saturday, August 6, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Stroo Funeral Home phone number is (616) 455-9280.
