Mobilizing Jamaal
In Southeast Asia, a city-wide conference is being planned to challenge churches and nationals to reach Muslims in their region.
Consider this scenario in Southeast Asia. Kareem, an unbeliever, has two friends in his country--Jason and Jamaal. Kareem assumes that Jason, the foreigner, is immoral and ungodly (like in Western movies). Everything Jason says and does is strange.
Jamaal is more like Kareem. He is from the same country, speaks the same language, and knows how to be appropriate in everyday situations. Which friend do you think Kareem would most likely talk to about things that really matter?
You’re probably right if you chose Jamaal, but consider the fact that even though Jamaal is the pastor of an evangelical church, he is afraid to reach out to his Muslim neighbors. And if he were able to muster the faith to do Muslim ministry, he wouldn’t know where to begin. There is no organized effort to reach Muslims living in his city.
ABWE missionaries in the 10/40 window are partnering with church leaders like Jamaal – helping them find, train, and mobilize other nationals to evangelize the millions of Muslims in their region. Lord willing, this city-wide conference will bring together a group of the very people we want to partner with--nationals with a burden to reach those who have been misguided for so many years.
Please pray for additional workers to join our small team in Southeast Asia. We need helpers to assist us with the enormous task of facilitating this newly developing missions movement by providing leadership training; teaching methods for strategizing, networking, and problem solving; and coordinating teams that are ready to launch out into the darkest corners of the Muslim world.
