A Church Rejoices

An induction service was held at The International Church of Torino in Turin, Italy, Sunday, May 14, to mark the beginning of Dyfan Williams’ service as the new pastor.

This church plant was started six years ago by ABWE missionaries, Dave and Rosezell Stevenson. After two years of starting this work, the Stevenson’s had to return to the US because of health problems; so for four years, the church has been carried by temporary missionaries filling in for brief periods of time. Eleven different men have come to help oversee this ministry as a permanent pastor was sought. In February of 2005, God brought a pastor from England, Dyfan Williams, to be a guest speaker, and the church asked him to stay on full-time.

Catherine Butler is a church planting assistant who has been ministering at this work since May of 2002. She says concerning the induction service,“Today I got to be a part of one of the most beautiful church services I have ever been a part of as Dyfan was inducted as our new pastor. It was incredible, and I am in awe of God’s faithfulness and how He has brought all of this about. The service was so special and meaningful as a pastor and a flock were brought together! This is a milestone for me that marks five years of hard work and God showing us His greatness. Today, all the blood, sweat, and tears were greatly rewarded, and my heart rejoices.”
