G.R.A.C.E. Update

SENT TO G.R.A.C.E FOR RELEASE JULY 29

Thank you for your prayers and support as ABWE finalized its agreement with G.R.A.C.E. for a third-party investigation of the abuse by Donn Ketcham.

The process is well underway, and G.R.A.C.E. has informed ABWE it has selected a lead investigator by the name of Stephanie Smith.  Stephanie is experienced in child abuse issues, including leading many investigations in a Midwest prosecutor’s office.  She made her first visit to ABWE on July 12-13, 2011, during which the ministry provided her access to many documents and related files.  She was also supplied with lists of individuals present where Dr. Ketcham served throughout his career with ABWE, as well as names of relevant administrators and other pertinent information.  The compilation and review of materials will be an ongoing process of this investigation.

ABWE missionaries and staff, here and in Bangladesh, have been assisting with the gathering of this information and will continue to be ready to cooperate in every way possible with the investigation. Additional files and information are being organized in Bangladesh for review and use in the investigation.

G.R.A.C.E. has told us that in the coming weeks, they will begin sending out questionnaires to ascertain who may have relevant information they wish to share. Once these questionnaires have been reviewed, the G.R.A.C.E. team will begin scheduling a series of interviews with MKs, their families, ABWE staff and any others who worked on the mission field with Donn Ketcham.

We are grateful for your prayers as the investigation moves forward, and trust you will continue to ask for God’s blessing on this undertaking, to His glory.
