A Pact with the DevilSharon Rahilly

Togo —

The pastor presented an incredible lesson on security in Christ. He emphasized security is not found in fetishism—appeasing gods in the rivers, stones, or trees—but only through the blood of Jesus Christ. Then a question came from a man who had just recently accepted Christ. “Awhile ago, I made a pact with the devil,” he said. “If he gave me a good harvest, I would give him my first-born child. I had a good harvest, but afterwards I gave my life to Jesus. What will keep Satan from claiming my child?”

“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world!”

Then a believer named Yaovi gave his testimony. His father had also made a pact with Satan. When Yaovi heard the gospel, he was afraid because he thought that Satan would immediately kill him if he made a decision to follow Christ! He finally realized that his need of a Savior was greater than his fear.

Today, Yaovi today is a wonderful, strong believer, full of health and energy, serving God as a nurse and as a Community Health Evangelism leader! How I thank God that His Word has the answers!”
