Amazon Landslide Relief

Amount Still Needed:

Projected Start Date: November, 2010
Country: Brazil
Region: South America

Last updated

Several weeks ago, the bank of the Amazon River gave way after weeks of drought, bringing houses, businesses, and property crashing into the swirling muddy waters. While no one was killed in the landslide, more than 200 families were impacted by the disaster. All that remains of the bustling main street and market is a 45-foot-deep hole and a great need. Many families in the town of São Paulo de Olivença lack basic living necessities.

Would you consider helping this faithful congregation to help their community? Your gift will help them give even more than a “cup of cold water” in the name of Jesus. As with all compassion ministries of ABWE, the spiritual is as critical as the physical need, and everyone receiving relief aid will hear the gospel. Give online by using the giving box at the top of this page or mail your gift designated for “Amazon relief” to ABWE Donor Services, PO Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
