Church Connections

Mobilize your Church

How do you mobilize your church for missions? Do you have an annual Missions Conference? Do you have focus groups in your church for the care and encouragement of missionaries? Do you have a plan to nurture and train future missionaries? Missions should be more than just one of many programs in your church – it should be the purpose of your church. If you have ideas for conferences or great methods for mobilizing your people to involvement in missions, we want to hear those ideas and share them with other churches. Send us your ideas.

The Church, as the body of Christ, is responsible for the Great Commission. Yet in this age, the primary physical expression of that universal body is the local body. We see the local church as God’s primary instrument to fulfill the Great Commission.

“…every Christian believer in the world, whatever his nation or denomination, is our brother or sister in Christ…yet it is no good supposing that membership of the universal Church of Christ is enough; we must belong to some local branch of it…Every Christian’s place is in a local church…sharing in its worship, its fellowship, and its witness.”—John Stott, in Basic Christianity.
